TALENTED YOUNG GUNS IN MIX FOR MAURIE McNAMEE MEDAL FOR COLTS

The Maurie McNamee medal for Colts B & F is wide open with a wealth of young talent in the mix to take out the coveted award.  Young forward Jack Austin was outstanding at CHF and the Queensland representative had a big season – and he is only 16 years old. Midfielder Max Webber had a strong season with plenty of possessions and performed well in the League Medal Count, while Jacob Sheath was also a workhorse in the middle of the ground. Defender Zac Stegmeyer and Tristan Dowdy were models of consistency down back although Dowdy played quite a few Reserves matches this year which may reduce his chances.

Sam DeNys is another who performed well all season and another 16 yo Queensland representative and midfielder Caleb Franks is all class and will poll well.

The Colts voting is wide open and could be won by half a dozen players, all who look to have a bright future in the game which is great news for the Western Magpies in coming seasons.
