STAKER CLEARED BY AFLQ REVIEW PANEL — NO CASE TO ANSWER
Western Magpies CHF Brent Staker is free to play in Saturday’s QAFL Qualifying Final against Palm Beach-Currumbin after the AFLQ Review Panel decided he had no case to answer after reviewing footage of the second quarter incident when he was reported for striking on Saturday.
The panel agreed there was no reportable contact in the incident.
Staker is a key player for the Pies and was in fine form when the Pies defeated the Lions by 9 goals at Palm Beach in Round 11. He was a little rusty on Saturday after missing several weeks with injury but should be fit and firing this week.
Salk Oval at Palm Beach holds no fears for the Magpies as they have had some memorable victories there over recent seasons and after a nail-biting win last week secured the double chance the Pies will be confident of victory.
