As the home & away seasons come to an end, a number of Magpie outfits are still in the hunt for ultimate glory!
COLTS
The Western Magpie Colts side finished the season last week with another victory over ladder leaders Morningside to take top spot on the ladder going into a final round bye. They can now finish no lower than 2nd spot and will enjoy the week off next week regardless.
Woodsmen
The Woodies finished their H&A season in 2nd spot and lost a heartbreaking thriller last week by 5 points against Zillmere. However, they get the 2nd chance this week with a home Preliminary Final against Sandgate on Friday night 25/8 at 7:30 pm. We would encourage all supporters to get down and cheer the boys home.
U/16
A powerful U/16 Division 1 side, the Magpies finished the season alone on top of the ladder and enjoyed the week off last week in the opening week of finals. However, this week they take on Aspley at Keith Surridge Park, Alex Hills to secure direct entry into the 2017 Grand Final.
The game is on Sunday at 2:15pm and again we encourage all Magpie fans to get to Alex Hills and support the boys. It's a big week for coach Jake Fuentes who will also play for the Woodies on Friday night!
U/12
The Sherwood U/12 side started their finals campaign last week in a thrilling elimination final win over Park Ridge by 3 points. They now take on Wynnum at Dauth Park, Beenleigh for a shot at the Preliminary Final next week. The boys played Wynnum twice this year and split the points evenly with a 12 point win and 5 point loss - so this match is up for grabs!
Friday 25 August 6:45pm at Beenleigh.
