RESERVES LOOKING TO LIFT FOR LAST HOME GAME
The Western Magpies Reserves will again go into another clash with a depleted line up as the toll of injuries in the club has an impact on the playing stocks.
The Pies have struggled in recent weeks with a drop off in intensity at training having an effect on match days. Coach Craig Allen will ask his charges for a better effort in the this game at home as well as the final match of the season next Saturday to at least finish the year with heads held high.
The Magpies have been notoriously slow starters in recent matches and by the time they get into gear they find themselves behind the eight-ball. Their opponents in Labrador have had an up and down season and currently lie fifth on the ladder.
Standouts for the year have been centreman Bryce Crossley who rarely plays a bad game, Jamie Page who has stood up in defence and been rewarded with regular effort on the track with a fine season under pressure and young on-ballers Will Lloyd and Joshua White, who will both push for senior selection next year as they continue to mature and improve.
Big improvers have been Joshua Uebergang in his first season of AFL and young forward Jeremy DeRooy, who continues to make a contest up forward.
The Pies will look to these players to give a contest as well as the experienced Sean Mewing to lead the way.
The young Pies have a task in front of them but with a positive attitude can spring an upset against an inconsistent Tigers outfit.
