You can’t keep a good man down!! Tim McEvoy was looking forward toa few weekends free from footy commitments after retiring last year after over 200 Senior matches anda Life Membership for the Magpies. But when a vacancy occurred early in the year for a Senior Assistant Coaching role as backline coach he jumped at the chance to work with new coach Brydan Morgan. He has been involved in junior coaching at Sherwood and was a long time member of the senior club’s leadership group when playing so he knows how to organise and get his message across to his players.
He is a senior coach in waiting and this is the beginning of the learning process as a senior coach and he embraced the opportunity to add this to his CV.
TMac’s playing career is well documented as a hard-as-nails midfielder who also played a lot of his footy across half back. He was often the backline general in his playing days and this will put him in good stead as he marshalls the defensive half for the Pies this year.
