NEAFL ALIGNED PLAYERS
There will be no mini-draft of NEAFL players this season and all Redlands listed players from 2015 aligned to the Pies will again be attached to the Pies in 2016.
The Pies do not expect to see much of CHF Tom Michael this year as he is expected to cement his place in the Redland team. Other Redlands players who played for the Pies last year were Tyler Jones, Jak Williams, Jake Goodall and Liam Dwyer and it remains to be seen If the Pies see much of them this year.
Magpies players from the 2015 Magpie side now NEAFL listed are Doug Lawrence and Aaron Maricic. Doug and Aaron are automatically aligned to the Magpies if not selected for NEAFL duties and ex-Magpie and Gold Coast Suns player Jackson Allen can also play for the Pies if not in the Aspley team.
Allen has had a delayed start to the year with some niggles so may see early season action in the Black and White as he builds his fitness for the NEAFL.
Another ex-Pie and 2012 premiership player Brenton Saunders is listed at Redland but has requested he be aligned to the Pies this year if not selected in the NEAFL team rather than Mt Gravatt, his club for the past 3 years.
