Roy’s footy is a super fun, social and safe AFL development program for boys and girls between the ages of 5-8 (born between 1/1/2012 - 31/12/2014) who have graduated from the NAB AFL Auskick Program.
Once joined, participants can further develop their football, social skills and match play in a local club environment before officially joining Junior Club Football in Under 8’s.
Sherwood JAFC Roy’s Footy program, beginning on the 18/5/19 and finish on the 24/8/19, will run Saturday Mornings 8:00 am to 9:00 am at Mc Carthy Homes Oval (Sherwood Main Oval) and will be an extension of the Sherwood Auskick program.
The one-hour program will consist of 15 minutes of game-based skill activities followed by a 6-a-side modified match.
Sherwood will participate in a cluster program with Jindalee, Yeronga, Calamvale, Forest Lake and Ipwsich. This means two teams each week will play against teams from other clubs. Players will travel to other clubs no more than 4 times during the season.
It is not guaranteed that all games at other clubs will be played at 8:00 am but majority of them should be.
The cost is $50 for those who completed the Auskick program (which covers the State Registration Fee) in 2019, and $130 for those who haven't. It is encouraged that participants not interested in doing Auskick but interested in Roys still sign up for Auskick so that they can receive a benefits pack.
It is possible to do Auskick at school and participate in Roys. For more information about school Auskick contact Sally Young - firstname.lastname@example.org
