BIG INCLUSIONS STRENGTHEN RESERVES
The Western Magpies Reserves have been strengthened with several big inclusions into their team to meet the undefeated Labrador at Labrador on Saturday.
Returning from Seniors are Sean Mewing and youngster Rory Johnson, with Redlands listed forward Tom Michael playing his first game for over a year. Michael, who was impressive for the Pies in previous stints, returns after an extended period on the sidelines with injury.
Also in are veteran defender Gabe McKinnon, rookie ruckman Josh Uebergang, both unavailable last week, and regular senior ruckman Dom Beer returns after a delayed start to the season due to several niggling injuries. Strong bodied defender Rohan Smith returns after also missing last week with injury.
The "ins" mean the Pies field their strongest side for the year and they will also be a bigger and taller team than last week.
As a result the Pies depth looks better than a few weeks ago, but unfortunately several players have to miss out on a game.
Better for a run last week with be 2012 Pies Senior Premiership player Matt Dillon, while Tom Hall and Smith add some muscle to the back half. Youngsters in Kurt Vine, Damon Allen, James Gainford, and Dom Morrison have been consistent in the first three rounds and all have shown rapid development and Riley Easton will be relishing some continuity after a long injury layoff.
The mix of experienced players coming back into the side combined with an enthusiastic group of youngsters means the Magpies should give a good account of themselves against a strong Tigers Reserves team.
