Coach - Reid Dobson

High school teacher. Dobbo is a much decorated rover for the Western Magpies, playing in two senior premierships (2006 and 2012) and being named Best on the Ground in the 2006 premiership. He was club vice-captain in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012 and 2013.

He was Senior Most Consistent in 2012 and won the QAFL Reserves Best and Fairest medal (Bill Clerke Medal) in 2010 and was the club’s Reserves Best and Fairest (JB Medal) player in 2009 and 2010. He also won the Woodsmen Best and Fairest Award (Nipperess Medal) in 2014 and was Best on Ground in the premiership winning Grand final. Dobbo did like the big occasion!!

A fearless rover who attacked the football, and loved the contest, he has developed into a fine junior coach and he took the Sherwood Under 16s to the finals last year before taking on the Colts coaching. He was also an assistant coach for the 2015 U17 Sherwood Premiership winning team.

With over 200 appearances for the Magpies, he is a loyal servant of the club.

Assistant Coach - Brett McEvoy

Primary School Teacher. Noodles was an accomplished player for the Magpies and played on a half forward flank where his deadly left foot was a weapon for the Pies. He started at Sherwood under 8s and progressed through the ranks, winning premierships in Under 13s, 14s and 16s while a youngster.

He graduated to the Western Magpies to play a number of years in the Seniors then moved to Moranbah for several years for his teaching. On his return he played in the centre for the Reserves, winning the AFLQ Division 2 League Best and Fairest Medal in 2011. He then decided to join the Woodsmen and played in his first Senior Premiership in 2014 after many near misses.

Brett has an astute football brain and with his teaching background has the ability to impart his knowledge of the game to the Colts players and also develop them to not only being better players but also fine young men the club and their families can be proud of.

Assistant Coach - Kiran Verma

"Special K" joined the coaching team this year and has been an outstanding addition to the Colts line up. Kiran lives and breathes footy and has worked closely with the backline this year as well as donning the pink kit as the Colts runner. Always upbeat and positive, Kiran is well respected among the boys and can be relied on to complete any task no matter how big or small. Has played over 100 matches for the Woodsmen and one of the first to put his hand up to help out if the reserves are short. A great clubman.

Team Manager - Michelle Shepherd

Michelle took on the managing duties for the Colts this year and has become a key figure in the team’s success. Positive and engaged, Michelle radiates her love for footy in everything she does - often backing up after the Colts games to help out with the Seniors and Reserves
